Recent Fishing Trips

The Muddy River, which runs quite close to the Main House at Acorn Hill, is a constant producer of fine fishing action, and a recent trip by four citizens was no exception. Mayor Asher Ply Wood and Autumn Fern suggested the trip and did a fine job gathering gear. The outing also included Main House President Dad and Nathaniel Barn Loft. The crew used soft-plastic lures and caught a mixed bag that included quite a few "shoe fish."
Another recent trip to a pond owned by Acorn Hill Press readers produced fine bass action, with one especially thrilling catch. Over-excited about the fish at the end of his line, Ply Wood reeled the wrong way and cranked the handle right off his reel. Seeing what had happened, Barn Loft quickly grabbed the line and hand-lined the fish toward the bank. Ply Wood then ran and got the net and together they landed the bass.
