A bonfire in the middle of August in North Georgia wasn't as absurd a setting as it sounds. Main House President Dad said, "It brought us all together in one spot so it was a nice way to end the day."
Acorn Hill residents and family from Canton, GA, celebrated Grandpa Samsel's birthday at a cabin at a resort near Tallulah Gorge. It was a full day of stomping around in the tumbling Tallulah River, hiking, eating, fishing, playing UNO and simply talking.
In the evening Main House President Dad made a bonfire that toasted several marshmallows. Autumn Fern had her first smore. Nathaniel Barn Loft played the dulcimer.
Grandpa had a yellow cake with cooked chocolate pecan frosting. It was topped with two candles.
