Passing on the Art

It wasn't that long ago when Sarah Daffodil sat down with her friend, Nancy Garrett, to learn how to manipulate corn husks into little people. Garrett said, "I think you'll pass on the art."

Since that day Daffodil has taught two eight-week classes for adults on cornhusk doll making. She also has demonstrated in several places -- the latest being the Mountain Laurel Festival in Clarkesville.

Since learning how to make a basic doll, Daffodil has challenged herself by making animals. Her biggest undertakings have been a couple of Nativities, complete with sheep and a camel. She also copied an original painting by Linda Anderson, "The Good Shepherd," of Jesus feeding a sheep.
